How to Be Good and Angry Conference
What is anger? We all experience it. It seems natural to the human experience. It eats at us and shows itself in so many different way: coldness, sarcasm, yelling, rage, self-injury, disrespect, abusive, and silence... Do we have to resign to just managing our anger? Keeping a tight lid on it, so
it does not overflow?

Yet anger is one of God's holy attributes, so therefore we as His image-bearers have the capacity for Godly anger.
However, since His image in us has been corrupted, we also have the capacity for resentment and hatred. We often start out with what we believe is a righteous anger against injustice, but then something goes wrong; what started out as good becomes selfish and destructive.

This conference seeks to help us deal with the fact that we have a problem with anger, but that we can be hopeful as we face it. The Bible is shockingly honest about anger's cause and wonderfully encouraging about its cure.
The solution to anger is not anger management, but worship realignment. God doesn't want
you to be free of anger, but propelled by the right kind of anger.

What People Are Saying
From: How to be Good & Angry Conferences

*It was so helpful to me to hear how our desires progress from a need, to a demand, to an expectation, to a disappointment, to a need to punish.....and how our silent expectations of others can be so destructive. Paul Tripp used relevant scriptural interpretation and practical examples to "make it real." - Lauren

* This conference gave me a better perspective on my anger by helping me to see it more objectively and biblically. Paul Tripp's practical stories let me relate the topic to real life scenarios. I could see how what I've learned applies to my life. I need to work on myself. -
Sean

* I now can see the rightful source of anger and the progression from desires all the way downward to wanting to punish. There was excellent application of Scripture to real life. It helped me to recognize my need for God. -
Savannah

* After attending this conference I want to move from my self focused anger to kingdom anger. I have been walking around with a loaded agenda that wants the world to cater to me, so self-indulgent. Thank you for this insight. -
Joy

* The discussion concerning the war/battle for control of my heart was very helpful. I want to now look for signs of the smallest form of anger in my life rather than wait for the clearly defined moments of rage. -
Rocco

* What a wonderful biblical perspective - how much we love God changes our heart toward everything - that gives me so much hope. This conference was great and so helpful. Thank you! -
Sharon

* Most helpful to me is the insight that anger is a self-serving instinct: "I love you, and I have a wonderful plan for your life: Serve Me!." Also, understanding that "good things" that have become "ruling things" in my life can lead to destructive expectations. - David

* I learned so much. Especially to be aware of the anger I do have and how it comes about (an expression of what's already inside me) and what I can do about it through worship realignment, loving those around me, and opening myself up to the grace of God by loving God more than loving my many idols. - Cynthia
